So off I drove to Walworth, and found Mr. Joseph Smollet at home and in his shirtsleeves, taking a late tea out of a saucer. He is a decent, intelligent fellow, distinctly a good, reliable type of workman, and with a headpiece of his own. He remembered all about the incident of the boxes, and from a wonderful dog's-eared notebook, which he produced from some mysterious receptacle about the seat of his trousers, and which had hieroglyphical entries in thick, half-obliterated pencil, he gave me the destinations of the boxes.
Jonathan: *meets a man with a good memory, who keeps a detailed notebook of records written in hard-for-others-to-understand script*
Jonathan: for some reason I like him right away

I think that Steve would have a harder time dealing with the fact that Nancy cheated with Jonathan than he would with the fact that she cheated at all.
He grew up with an unfaithful father. He has heard the fights and the tears, and he has watched his dad say sorry and his mom forgive. That’s what happens. That’s what always happens. It’s just what you do.
He can forgive her for cheating.
But to cheat with Jonathan?
To cheat with the guy that he thought was kinda his friend, breaks him.
They weren’t best friends but Steve thought they were friends and that’s harder to reconcile because he grew up in a house where cheating was never the fault of the cheater.
It was the fault of the person you cheated with.
That’s the person that wants to ruin everything. They want to hurt you and he… well, he thought they were friends.

Here a doodle of the spot I cleaned and fix a bit.
The premise of this art is, the spot finding out my oc also have superpowers and him asking if they can be partners, a super villain duo. Maybe I'll make more art of them. When I'm finish designing my oc and when I feel better. Yay to feeling like shit. Or just draw more of him. He so fun to draw after all.
I'm legitimately in love with him, I knew I would like him already in the trailers but by god. Also I watch the movie with my sister and we both Immediately realized that the spot is just me. So much of his mannerism is similar to me. How he starts explaining things when he nervous, like same man same. Him saying hypothesis I'm going to put my head in that hole. that scene, something I will actually say and do,  Like he so relatable to me. I can see soooo much of me in him.
He so pathetic, but he also cool at the same time? I love everything about him. I will die for him fr. Also he gives me so much gender envy.
The writers and animators did him so well. Like everything about the movie was sooo good. Like as an artist I can feel my artistic identity change so much all ready. Both movies change have me for life. Actually psychologically change me. I will never be the same
Man sorry for this long ramble but I love him sooo much. I'm soo happy he so popular and a tumblr sexyman too.

WIP Weekend WIP Snip Share!
Didn't have time to do any WIP games this weekend, but here's a bit I've written for my Steddie (-Jonathan) fic. Because I thought, "huh, you know what this steddie angst fic needs? A Stobin fight."
Enjoy (or... you know)
~~~
Context: As Robin finally convinced Steve to tell Eddie how he feels, they're shocked when they go back to the party and find Jonathan and Eddie making out on the couch.
“Everyone’s gone home,” Robin consoles, tone grating against his skin. He doesn’t need her pity, or anyone else’s. Besides, Steve wouldn’t even be in this mess if it wasn’t for her. Meddling in his love life has never worked out for Steve in the past, and he doesn’t understand why he convinced himself it would be different this time just because it was Robin.
Because why would anyone, let alone someone like Eddie, be interested in dating Steve Harrington, King of Assholes and Jocks. Compared to someone like Jonathan, someone who is so clearly a better match for Eddie, Steve brings nothing to the table.
He laments himself for believing anything she ever said about how Eddie apparently looks at him when his head’s turned, or how he always goes out of his way to make Steve laugh. None of it was real. It was all just lies. Bullshit.
“Then why are you still here?” It’s colder than he meant. Steve can already feel the crown sliding back into place. It’s sickening how much he misses it, an old, awful comfort he worked so hard to shed. And yet, it feels so fucking good to wear it again.
If only it wasn’t Robin.
Heavy silence weighs against him. It’s not the response he expected. People always have a reaction when they meet King Steve– whether it’s disdain from the kids he tormented, pride from his asshole friends, or disappointment from people like Nancy.
Steve still hasn’t turned around, his back to the door Robin had come through to find him. The inability to read her eats at his nerves. He denies the sharp urge to look at her– to consume and study every twitch of her mouth, every crinkle of her eyes– to know what she’s thinking right now. But that would mean giving her the same opportunity which is something Steve can absolutely not allow her.
The crown is a cold comfort if yet still a bit ill fitting. It’s been too long since Steve’s had to wield it as a sword and shield to fend off the people closest to him. He’s forgotten how. It wobbles on his head no matter how hard he clings to it. The heat of shame still stings behind his eyes. Steve hates it. So he clings to the anger, if he can’t cling to anything else.
He’s ripped from his seething by a firm hand on his shoulder. Robin’s next to him now, appearing almost out of nowhere. Steve wonders how long the silence lingered, if she said anything to him as he was stuck in the swirl of ruminating thoughts.
“Steve, look at me.”
Brushing her hand off his shoulder, Steve storms across the kitchen. She can’t look at him, she can’t see him. He can’t talk to her with all the shit clogging his throat. It’s all bubbling up inside him, the way it always does, thoughts and feelings he can’t name or pin down long enough to examine, not that he’d ever want to in the first place. Robin needs to leave before it bursts from him like a monster crawling through a hole in the ceiling, ready to hurt anyone in its path. Like a stupid, bigoted boy willing to throw a punch in an alleyway.
“Get the fuck out of my house.”
Jack when narrating about telling Mina about the mens' attack on Dracula in London:
she grew snowy white at times when danger had seemed to threaten her husband, and red at others when his devotion to her was manifested
Mina blushing at Jonathan's acts of devotion omg...
When we came to the part where Harker had rushed at the Count so recklessly, she clung to her husband’s arm, and held it tight as though her clinging could protect him from any harm that might come.
Protective instincts aside I love Jack saying that his attack was "so recklessly". He did fear for Jonathan's life and tried to shield him with a crucifix and a wafer because he kept trying to Kill. I imagine him talking about the attack with the tone of a man who is wiping his sweating forehead going "And then, the absolute madlad-"
Jack: "We were trying to play it safe, united front and all, except someone kept trying to actively gut the ancient undead horror right then and there. And then he lizard fashioned out the window to try it again when said undead horror threw himself out of the building to escape. And then he went chasing after the undead horror to try and carve him open in the middle of a crowded street. If Dracula hadn't sprinted for it I'm pretty sure your husband would have filleted him in the Square. And this was all after he swore out loud to sell his soul to kill the Count and send him to Hell."
Jonathan: "Sorry I didn't slaughter him for you yet, darling 🥺"
Mina, simultaneously terrified and so aroused she can't see straight: "that's fine my love it's great it's cool"
Space Age takes a different stab at Jonathan and Martha as parents, in a way that I think is very interesting. Jonathan is portrayed as critical of Clark (for a reason, but), and there's a panel after his death of Clark and Jon:
Tumblr media
Space Age is a comic set in one of the worlds culled during Crisis on Infinite Earths, but I'm always interested in the different ways comics portray Jonathan and Martha Kent because of their status as kind of the perfect parents. But it's interesting to consider and explore the ways Clark's upbringing also effects him in more complicated ways.
Cheng Fengjie is really such a funny character because he's got people throwing themselves to him left and right. everyone wants to fuck him so bad. but he's turning them down because good sex is too predictable and he'd rather have bad sex with a guy who has no idea what he's doing because that's more interesting. it's the reverse of the trope of having a one night stand that's so good you want to keep doing it. it's so bad he's got to try that again. poster child of wanting to put a man under a microscope to study him. no one else has ever been so thoroughly charmed by a man absolutely failing at everything as cheng fengjie is with wang xinjia. if the sex had been good, he would not have been half as interested in keeping wang xinjia
